I wanted to ask the advice of the Maryland site about DNA testing. I am planning on my brother doing it for our Clark line. I just want to make sure we go through a reputible company. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you for your help. Cathy
I had my female mtDNA testing done through Family Tree DNA based in Houston. I had the full genome sequence testing done which gave me HVR1, HVR2, and nine mutations in the control region which put me in haplogroup H1a1 with matches of a Anglo-Saxon - Jute migration pattern. This is the most a female can do. My Mother's Lewis line and my Father's Dillow line has been tested in surname projects at FTDNA. They are considered to be the best anywhere. Their staff is very personable and always answers any questions one might have and I personally think they are great. If you have a match after permission is given they can hook you up with any matches where you can correspond with your matches if you wish and you can share pedigrees. Hope this helps. :) Marianne Dillow --- On Wed, 11/12/08, Joel Blass <jocath68@yahoo.com> wrote: > From: Joel Blass <jocath68@yahoo.com> > Subject: [MDSTMARY] DNA > To: mdstmary@rootsweb.com > Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 10:34 AM > I wanted to ask the advice of the Maryland site about DNA > testing.
