    3. The John Clarke who was father of Gilbert CLARK is not the same John Clarke who was son of Robert Clarke the Surveyor. Robert Clarke the Surveyor's third wife was Jane Hicks(Cockshoot) Causine, she was born abt 1612,, and died abt 1662 two years before Robert Clarke the Surveyor made out his will. I can send you details about Gilbert Clarke who also had a brother named Thomas Clarke not the same one who was married to Ann Barber and Julian MUDD. -----Original Message----- From: mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of rubyslippers Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2008 5:41 AM To: 'Norma Lundgren'; mdstmary@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY] Robert Clarke immigrants Thank you Norma - I searched for MDstmary-L archives but couldn't find anything. Can you point me to it or explain? I found the gift on the transcriptions at genealogy.com. Did someone pull the original and it was suppose to be reversed - as in gift from Robert to wife Jane with witness of a Thomas? But I did find this about a Gilbert born 1654-1659. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/MDSTMARY/2002-01/1011867332 Obviously not born to a John born 1642 - to make this clear - John would have been 12 yrs old. I think this also explains the transactions I was questioning as to who the parties were: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mrmarsha&id=I02186 I note his land was in St. Lawrence - Clarkes Purchase and Clarks Marsh It doesn't explain two immigrations for Robert Clarkes a year apart. -----Original Message----- From: mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Norma Lundgren Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2008 9:35 PM To: mdstmary@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY] Robert Clarke immigrants If you would search the Maryland Archives, you would see that the name "Thomas" in that abstract is a mis-read/mis-write of the abstractor. ----- Original Message ----- From: "rubyslippers" <rubyslippers@kc.rr.com> To: <mdstmary@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 25, 2008 2:19 PM Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY] Robert Clarke immigrants >I still don't see how this explains what I wrote before >about the gifts from > the Robert to children, the age of the married Thomas, the > age of the Robert > and John making sales, etc etc > > -----Original Message----- > From: mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com] > On Behalf Of Jerry L.
