    3. It is my belief that Priscilla Horn was the first wife of Thomas Griffin. She died in 1782 and is buried in the Griffin Family Cemetery in Dameron. Her tombstone still stands, thanks to Scott Lawrence. Thomas Griffin m. second, Elizabeth Hendley, widow of James Jarboe. Right place, right time, right affiliations, e.g., John Horn Abell and John Horn Clarke. Will of Thomas Griffin, SMC, 6/20/1792-12/4/1792. Daughter: Elizabeth Griffin, the lower part of my plantation called "Pt. of Griffin's Choice" (to the head of St. Jerome's Creek and which is the dividing point between my land and the land of John Horn Abell, thence to St. Jerome's Road which is the dividing point between my land and the land of Abram Griffin's heirs and the land of Philip Griffin's heirs); five negroes named Elexis, Jess, Sarah, Ann, Joseph (son of Sarah); and one feather bed and furniture. Daughter: Priscilla Herbert, wife of William Herbert, the land I hold in the deed from William Guyther to Cecil Butler called "St. Helen's"; the land belonging to me contained in the patent of "Dant and Griffin's Resurvey"; the land I bought from James Dant; the land agreeable to the lines settled between Henry Jarboe and me adjoining the aforesaid land; all I have agreed for with Reuben Twiman (of Woodford Co., KY) which land I have in my possession but not yet conveyed. If it is not conveyed during my life, I give her 105 lbs. to be applied toward the purchase of the sd. land; 60 lbs. to purchase a negro man; four negroes named Kate, Nell, Michael, and James which she now has in her possession; and one bed and furniture. Daughter: Anna Milburn, wife of Edward Milburn, "Pt. of Griffin's Choice" between me and John Horn Abell (to the line of "Hawley's Manor", to the Bay to include the land and marsh purchased of Philip Griffin thence to the dividing line between me and John Horn Clarke (heirs of Philip Griffin) and the land of Abram Griffin's heirs to St. Jerome's Road and to the land I have bequeathed to my daughter, Elizabeth Griffin. She is to also have five negroes named Jacob, Nan, Andrew, Maryann, and Jane. Granddaughters: Priscilla Loker and Frances Loker, my plantation lying on St. Jerome's Creek which I bought from Anthony Underwood called "Elmore" equally divided between them. If either of them die before the age of 21 or without heirs, the other is to inherit the land above and the personal estate hereafter bequeathed. Granddaughter: Priscilla Loker, four negroes named Sue, Agnes, Mary, and Venus; one cow and calf. Granddaughter: Frances Loker, four negroes named George (now in the possession of her father, Thomas Loker), Henny, Hugh, and Hannah; one cow and calf. My old negro woman is to choose which of my three children she will belong to. The balance of my estate is to be equally divided between my daughters Elizabeth Griffin, Priscilla Herbert, and Anna Milburn. Execs: None specified. Witnesses: Bennet Tarlton, John Dunbar, John Horn Clarke, and Matthias Clarke. (St. Mary's County, Maryland Wills 1791-1802 by Linda Reno and Joann Humphries). She listed Edward's wife as Priscilla Horn. Unfortunately I do not have any of her research notes to prove this. Can any of you furnish documentation?
