George Medcalf who married Mary Abell d/o Katherine Abell Some web pages claim that Mary Abell was born 1 Jan 1795 , Nelson, Kentucky and that she was the daughter of Ignatius Abell and Christina Katherine POLK The web pages go on to say that Christina Katherine POLK was the daughter of Edmond POLKE and Mary FULTZ And That Ignatius ABELL was the son of Peter ABELL and Lucy CARMAN. Lucy Carman married 2nd to Thomas POLK, brother of Edmund POLKE who married Mary FULTZ. There seems to be a problem though when they claim that this same Mary ABELL married George MEDCALF. Either her birth date is wrong, or same Mary Abell did not marry George MEDCALF. We do know that a Mary Abell (had a Mother Katherine ? ) and that she married George MEDCALF son of John Kenelem MEDCALF and Winifred PAYNE. So My thinking is that The Mary ABELL born 1 Jan 1795 , Nelson, Kentucky, is either a wrong date of birth, or it's not the Mary ABELL who married George MEDCALF. It also appears based on children and their births.
