    3. I have found online that Rebecca, wife of Thomas Barber (died 1776) and mother of Hezekiah was assumed to be a Yates but based on the below it seems that the Yates was the wife of Cornelius Barber. So does anyone have any proof of who Rebecca’s parents were? Thanks 1751 – Charles Yates mentions daughters Rebecca Barber and Jane Bruce 1757 – Charles Bruce has Cornelius Barber and Charles Yates be guardians of his children Here is proof Cornelius’ wife was named Rebecca also: Charles County Land Record Book O#3, 1765-1770; Page 650. Dec 8, 1769 from Cornelius Barber of St Mary's County and Rebecca Barber, wife to the afd Cornelius Barber, of the same county, to Edward Barber of the county afd, for 230 £ and for divers other good causes, all that part or tract of land in CC called Batchlors Delight, containing about 151-1/2 acres.
