She was the daughter of William Combs and Mary Eleanor Taney. 3. According to my files, William Greenwell (father of Charles Gregory Greenwell) was the son of Ignatius Greenwell, Jr. and Jane Ford, not Monica Ford. Jane Ford m. second, Cornelius Manning and third, _____Smith. She died 1804. Will of Ignatius Greenwell, SMC 1/17/1757-3/1/1757. Wife: Jean negroes Joseph, Philip, Nell, and Jerm. Daughter: Rebecca negroes Bett, Henner, and Berna. Son: William negroes Jaratt, James, and Priss. Unborn child: negroes Pegg, Nead, and Charles. Son: Ignatius, negroes named Monica, Rode, and Baptist. Son: John, all of my land. Execs: Wife and her brother, Athanasius Ford. Wit: James Roach, Jesse Greenwell, Philip Medley.
