For example this one from Beaverdam: 45. (Date of Lease)Dec. 25, 1741: (To Whom Leased) Thomas Howard; (No. of Acres) 80 1/4; (Tenant in Possession) Athanatius Ford; (Annual Rent) 0-8-9; (Alienation Fine/Fines Due) 1-14-0; ("On what Lives or terms of Years" "now held") William Howard, Thomas Howard, Nicholas Howard; (Ages of the Persons mentioned in the Lease and other remarks) William 40, Thomas 28, Nicholas 30. Does this mean that the original lease was made to a Thomas Howard in 1741, that his heirs would be William, Thomas and Nicholas? But the person actually working the farm was Athanatius Ford? I notice that Athanatius Ford was also the tenant in possession in three other neighboring tracts, one of which he had leased himself in 1762. I noticed in the archives in 2005 that there was a speculation that this Thomas Howard would be the right age to be the one who went to Kentucky. Has anyone come up with an alternate Thomas? This William may also be a possibility for my "Unknown William Howard" records. 1760 (Chronicles of St. Mary's, 30 Jan 2001, page 97, Papist Lands Tax)[although I think this is probably still the estate of William Howard who died in 1753] - William Howard..............
