    3. Who was Henry Greenfield Sothoron? My Suit family was somehow connected to 2 men named after him: 1. Henry Greenfield Sothoron Key. *His son, Robert Morris Key, b. 1-3-1832 in Leonardtown, MD, married the granddaughter of Charles Hall, Jr.of Baldwin Co. AL whose 2 wives were sisters of my 3rd great grandmother Margaret Byrne McVoy--whose own grandson, Martin McVoy< Sr. came to So. MD from Pensacola or Mobile before the Civil War. His son, Martin McVoy, Jr.,wed Margaret Suite, d/o Norris Suite and they were my grandparents. The Byrne sisters were all children of Gerald Byrne of Dublin Ire. and Ann Palmer Allman Byrne, who was apparently also married to a DAVIS (maybe from SMC) before the Revolution. 2. Henry Greenfield Sothoron Cartwright: Benjamin Suit/Suite, s.oDent Suit who d. 1810 in SMC was appaointed his guardian in 1803.

Randy and list, Henry Greenfield Sothoron was born in St. Mary's County and was the son of John Johnson Sothoron but his mother was Mary Ann Jowles (daughter of Henry Peregrine Jowles and Dryden Cheseldine), not Elizabeth Donaldson (she was the second wife). Provincial Court Land Records, 1763-1765. DD#3:40 1763.07.12 Recorded 1763.07.12 Maryland. Henry Greenfield Sothoron of St. Mary's County the son and heir at law of Mary Sothoron formerly Mary Jowles, daughter & heiress of Henry Jowles late of St. Mary's County. Henry Jowles is the brother of whole blood & heir at law of Rebecca Moreland formerly Rebecca Jowles which said daughter was the daughter & devise of Henry Jowles the patentee of tract called the Grange. Formerly in Charles Co and now in Prince George's Co, originally patented to Henry Jowles 10 Sept 1685. On the north side of Eastern Branch of Potomac River. Sold to Richard Henderson of Prince George's Co for £350. Excludes damages from tract called Inclosure. (Courtesy, Haddox Sothoron).     3. He was the son of Philip B. Key (1750-1/1820) & Rebecca Jowles Sothoron. Henry wed Maria Louisa Harris February 18, 1834. Both are buried at Christ Church, Chaptico, St. Marys Co. 1879-05-20; Paper The Sun Leonardtown, St. Mary's Co. May 18th Mrs Maria L. Key, widow of the late Hon. H.G.S.Key, died suddenly Thursday morning late at Tudor Hall, the family residence, in the 75th year of her age. Mrs Key was the only suriving daughter of the late Joseph Harris, sister of Hon. B.G. Harris, and was universal esteemed for many of her noble works, among which was her (illegible) charities. She died possessed of large and valuable estate and leaves only a son, Joseph H. Key, Esq.
