OK--I know I will get barked at for saying this-- but I will really have to agree to disagree on the family of James Suite as was posted yesterday until I get more information. I honestly do not have enough evidence to believe in my heart that Rebecca Harrison was the mother of James' 3 youngest children "if" she even did marry James Suit. Other than the will naming Rebecca Harrison as a "Suit" -- what else do you have to prove this? I want my children and grandchildren to have the correct ancestress so I want to be sure about this. This is very important to me. I still lean toward Anna Banner wotj a (?) next to it at this point in time. There is much evidence to support this: Will of Peter Banner, Samuel Wood, William Suit; census records, famkly relationships and proximity, etc. Plus, we do now know that Peter Banner did marry Elizabeth Wood-- but in SMC not VA in 1754. Carol Mitchell was correct. Yesterday-- I briefly thought it was a possibility that Milded Suit was the same persona as Anna Banner "Shute". But, now I have re-looked at everything and think Anna Banner married James Suit as I have previously believed. I also am beginning to believe James was son of Benjamin due to proximity and that Benjamin Banner lived next to Benjamin Suit. Why would he live next ot Benjamin unless Benjamin was perhaps his grandfather--or brother-in-law. I do think James was a son of Benjamin and not the William Suit and Mary Johnson. If he was Christened 1765 as records show-- he may be! Alexander Suit who left MD and married in TN 1784 must have been b.ca. 1764 approx. as he married Agnes Benfield in TN in 1784. That pushes Benjamin Suit's birth date back to ca. 1744 so he could be father of James Suit. I have no clue how James was in the Revolution briefly-- but why was he not baptized until 1765? Anyway--after re-checking everything, I doubt Anna was Mildred--but then again-- Benjamin Banner did live next to Benjamin Suit in 1800-- NO ACCIDENT in my opinion. So-- we really don't know either way. Anyway--thanks for your help.. I will just have to disagree for now abot Rebecca Harrison being the mother of my ancestor Samuel Suit. That just doesn't feel right without more proof. Bonnie
