The following is in the book "Catholic Families of Southern Maryland", in the listing of Baptisms at St. Francis Xavier & St. Inigoes. 14 Mar 1779 - ______ Bowles of William and Catherine - Thomas and Ann Howard I think the godparents were: Thomas Howard (born about 1737 St. Mary's, Maryland - died between 28 May-24 Nov 1810 Nelson, Kentucky), son of Edward Howard, and his wife, Ann Gough Howard (born 1738 St. Mary's, Maryland-died 9 Mar 1836 Nelson , Kentucky), daughter of Peter Gough and Eleanor Bowles. Questions: Is this William Bowles related to Ann Gough? How? Who were the parents of William Bowles? Who was his wife Catherine?
