    3. Hi, Wondering if anyone can help me piece together who the Mother of Charles Neale's children were? Charles was the son of John Neale (died 1733) and Elizabeth Hungerford. (not to be confused with another one about the same time that was son of Anthony) Any help is appreciated. Thank you Sharon 42.17.3 pds SM May 16 1757 Charles Neal Sureties: Peter Pooley, Philip Lock Dist to Widow unnamed 1/3 Res to orphans equally: Mary Branson, Charles Neal, Daniel Neale, Ann Neale Adm: Daniel I think at one time Linda Reno thought that Charles was married to Elizabeth widow of John Cissell. William Cissell in 1742 mentions his grandson William Cissell as son of John Cissell and the now Elizabeth Neale married to Charles Neale. Charles children were: Mary who married Branson Charles Daniel - made executor Ann I estimate that Charles' children were born starting in 1735. There is a John Cisel died in 1759 with executrix Elizabeth. There is a John Cisell died in 1722 NOK Thomas Cisell. John Cissell on a probate record of Francis Cissel in 1735 that also has a payment to a Charles Neale. John Cissell died 1744 with Adm Sarah and no son named William On a CC website I found the following Liber. In the Calendar of Wills version it does not have the sentence "If my grndson William Cissell, s. o. John Cissell or his mother, Elizabeth Neale threaten Scotland, my will empowers my son Arthur Cissell to possess all their land." Is it possible they were divorced instead of John dead? 2. Will in 'Washington Co. Ky G 116 Bolds, William will 12/10/1838 probate 10/28/1839 Daughters Susannah Bolds, ANN MCBRIDE, Monica McLean, Mary Dugan, Taresy Bryan Son John Bolds heirs son in law James Dugan To Jacob Tufner heirs and to Belinda Yates relationship not stated Grandchildren Sinta Burnett, Bethelda Sherrel, Hewlet Bolds, Washington Bolds, and heirs of Joseph Bolds, Sevilly and Jane Bolds Ex. My friend Thomas P Arvin wit. Richard H. Berry and Thomas Cambron According to "Pioneer History of Washington County" Wm. Bolds was a Rev. War vet. Also a native of ST. MARY'S COUNTY, MD. Said he was 91 in 1834. This info came from a newspaper clipping, History of Washington County, by O.W. Baylor, 14 Mar 1935. 1778 -- Wm. Boulds and Ignatius Bowles took an oath of allegience to the new state of Maryland, as required by law. (Have copy of oath; from Catholic Families of Eastern MD., O'Rourke.) 1785 -- (From Catholicity in Kentucky): a "league" of 60 Catholic families (Maryland Land League), most from St. Mary's Co., MD, formed and pledged to emigrate to KY. 25 families left in early 1785, reached KY by spring. Settled in Pottiner's Creek lands. Three brothers, Ignatius, William and John Bowles included. "The Bowles brothers, Ignatius, John and William, were upright and pious men, and greatly respected in the community." Interesting note: "It is a singular circumstance in the history of Catholic emigration to Kentucky, that the first colony of emigrants should have settled on lands that were, possibly, the least inviting of any to be found in all Central Kentucky." Probably because of unscrupulous speculators in Maryland who held the patents. 1786 -- Shows up on Nelson Co., VA (now KY) tithables list. (Also 1788, 1790, Cpt. John Caldwell's Company, and 1791, with a negro named Charles.) 12 Sep 1788, the Court "ordered that Bazell Hayden John Phillips and Wil. Bolles being sworn to appraise the estate of Ignatius Cissell, decsd., and make a return thereof to the court." Shows up on Washington Co. Tax Lists, 1792, 1794, 1795, 1796, 1797, 1799, 1800. Example, Tax List for 1792: William Bolds: 1 white male over 21, 1 black; 4 horses, 23 cattle, 115 acres. And 1795: Boulds, William, 1 white male over 21, 4 horses, 15 cattle, 115 acres on Beech Fork. 1810, 1820, 1830 Washington Co. Census 01 May 1798 -- Bowles (Bold), Barnerd Cissler, Charles Payne and Wm. Brewer pay 5 pounds for 2 acres and chapel for Roman Catholic Church. Waters of Pottinger's Creek. Wash. Co. Deed Book B, p. 120. Holy Cross Catholic Church, FIRST CATHOLIC CHURCH IN KENTUCKY. Church built in 1792. (Note that Catholicity book incorrectly calls William Bolds "William Bald.") 02 Feb 1817 -- Buys land on Pottinger's Creek from Jacob Dupner for 100 pounds. (Actually paid May 1814). (Book E, p. 330) "Pioneer History..." note: "To the names of soldiers of the American Revolution who settled in Washington County should be added ... William Bolds.... William Bolds and Francis Payne were acquaintances and natives of St. Mary's County, MD. They enlisted and were on their way to join the army of Washington when Payne took sick and was discharged in Baltimore. Bolds went on an served with Washington. (Payne later served.) Bolds was 91 years of age in 1834." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Lee" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 9:29:57 AM Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY] William Bowles I thought that Wm.
