He was married to Sarah Dent who was sister of Joseph Dent. He may have been a Nottingham who changed his name. I know some members of this family were apparently Non-conformists. I am trying to find the name of Sarah and Joseph Dent's father who had a brother named James. They were cousins of Thomas Dent who d. in Northampton Co as well who was a tailor. (early 1700's.) Joseph Dent died 1718. Need information on Sarah and her husband Richard Notting who is also listed as a "Cousin" in Joseph Dent's will.
