    3. I have Drurys in my family line, which is Brown(e) descending from William, who arrived with the Arc & Dove indentured to Thomas Cornwallys, and Reynolds, which line arrived a bit later. My grgrgrandparents were Monica Brown and (her first cousin) Barna B Reynolds. Barna's mother was Ann French. Is there anything in vol 2 of the Drury book relating to any of these people? I will order it if there is. --Tom Bohan On Mar 5, 2013, at 11:01 PM, Donald Drury <ddrury5840@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > Dear list, > > I'm attempting to learn the parents of Mary M. 3. Hi Sorry, my text was sent before I had time to correct my spellings. Some years back, I was a volunteer in a shingles vaccine study. It lasted 2 years, sponsored, I believe, by Merck.. As the study began, we had a series of lectures concerning shingles, esp. the effect & likelihood on older citizens and some commented on the intense pain they had.. I had rec'd the placebo and as soon as the vaccine was approved I rec'd a free shot. 3. The virus that causes chicken pox resides on your nerves not in the genes. You are right, there is a vaccine that helps prevent shingles which is painful. My doctor said it is recommended after age 60. However, two young people I know recently had bouts of shingles. BOTH are in their 20s. Anyway, good advice if slightly off-topic. Hope you feel better soon~ On Tue, Mar 5, 2013 at 11:11 AM, Dave Cummins <dec405@comcast.net> wrote: > I have Shingles, I am old and Shingles have been in me since Christmas. > Most unpleasant, I was exhausted walking ten feet, I had fire crackers > going off under the shin on both sides and once in a while a cherry bomb. > My skin was like that of a Snow Bird that sat in the sun for twelve hours > on his first day in Sarasota. 3. I have Shingles, I am old and Shingles have been in me since Christmas. Most unpleasant, I was exhausted walking ten feet, I had fire crackers going off under the shin on both sides and once in a while a cherry bomb. My skin was like that of a Snow Bird that sat in the sun for twelve hours on his first day in Sarasota. Now, just much pain in each arm pit and a fire cracker, once in while. New pills. Why this story. If you had chicken pox and are sixty year old or older there is a shot that just about guarantees you will not have to go through the hell of Shingles. I never heard of the shot until I was well into the exercise and if I had, maybe I would have ignored the opportunity. That would have been a very bad decision and would have saved the Tax Payers lots of money. Google Shingles and if you are old consider the shot.
