Hi. There is a Hamilton/Hambleton family of SMC that has never been studied. They are not related to the Charles County family to the best of my understanding. I am related to the SMC Hamiltons because Teresa Hamilton married William Wheeler (son of Francis Wheeler and Ann Burchmore of SMC) in 1800 and they are ancestors of mine. I've never gotten around to actually investigating the Hamiltons of SMC in a comprehensive way. They are mentioned in a number of records. For example, Mary (Tennison) Mollohan (daughter of Samuel Tennison and Elizabeth Bond) married (2) William Hamilton of SMC. There was also a Hugh Hamilton in SMC around the same time. James Hamilton (d. 1790 in SMC) seems to have married Mary Steele (daughter of John Steele and Ann Van Reswick)--they seem to have had a son, Henry Hamilton. There was also a George Hamilton who married Mary Forbes but that is, again, a different family. Please let me know anything you are able to find out. And, as always, thanks! I have never identified her husband although I have to admit I have never really tried that much. I also don't have good birth years for the Hill children I do list but the fact that is will, which was written in 1760 only names two of them makes me wonder if there were only two Hill children by that date and that also makes me wonder about John Baptist Hill. It's possible since Thomas and Rebecca were married in 1753 that they had a child in 1754. I just wonder why he wasn't included in Mary's will. Jackie. Linda Reno or anyone else who might know these people Do you know anything about Grafton or Grover Reno/Rennoe. Are these guys brothers, twins, or any relationship at all? Grafton is married to Minnie Thompson and Grover is married to her sister Catherine Thompson, the daughters of James Henry Thompson and Drusilla Curry Thompson of Thompson's Corner. Okay someone please correct me - I've always thought that John Barton Miles was married to a Rose whose last name was unknown based on a couple of documents such as this: Deed Book K, pp. 295, 296, Washington County, Kentucky January 24, 1831 John Barton/Bartholomew/Barton Miles & Rose/Rosey his wife to Elexcius Miles "JOHN BARTON MILES and his wife Rose Miles of the County of Washington and State of Kentucky of the one part and Elexcius Miles his son of the same.....Witnesseth that the said is BARTHON MILES and Rose his Wife" To son: ELEXCIUS MILES, for love and consideration and one Dollar in silver in hand. My daughter HENRIETTA MATTINGLY is to have the house where MY SON JOHN now lives and 8 Acres of ground during her widow hood and the small lott of ground where ST. I have never identified her husband although I have to admit I have never really tried that much. I also don't have good birth years for the Hill children I do list but the fact that is will, which was written in 1760 only names two of them makes me wonder if there were only two Hill children by that date and that also makes me wonder about John Baptist Hill. It's possible since Thomas and Rebecca were married in 1753 that they had a child in 1754. I just wonder why he wasn't included in Mary's will. Jackie.
