The Cissells were intermarried with several of the other families you mention. If you can be more specific I would be clad to exchange information. 3. Hello. I am still hoping to find some definitive information on Stephen Jones, born around 1772 who married Lydia. I suspect either he wasn't actually born in St. Mary's County and/or his wife Lydia's last name was not Wood. Linda graciously gave me all that she had on this family a year or so ago. If anyone else has any information I'd greatly appreciate it. Forest Jones Butera

Author: cblosche Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.stmarys/4408/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Seeking information as to the parents and children of William Brereton? According to Robert Maitland Brereton in The Brereton's of Cheshire, William settled in Maryland in 1637 with his wife, one child, and 3 servants. He was granted 750 acres of land in St. Mary's County, was a Burgess in 1649, and gave land to a church on St. Clement's Bay in 1661. Britton (found on a 1692 map) on Breton's Bay marks the locality of his estate. I will be visiting the area in April and would appreciate any information available regarding this ancestor. I have limited info on them right now as I have at least 40 family names that I am working on and with each grandmother's name I find, it means more names to follow! My Herbert's are out of Joseph Herbert born in Md. He liven in St Mary's Md, and then in Westmoreland. He was married to Anna M from VA. ?, so have her as Annabelle, but that is due to a mis-spelling of her name. She is said to me of Native American heritage. Now my Owens are from King George & Westmoreland Co, area in VA. They are from the Owens- Bryant line. Ok, now it is your turn.....
