    3. I don't have an exact year of birth for Joseph Clarke but I do have him born prior to 1732 as he was listed as one of the NOK of his uncle, Joseph Walker in 1752. 11/10/1752: Admin. accts. of Joseph Walker, SMC. NOK: Joseph Clarke and Clement Stratford, Exec: Wife, Monica. I don't really have a good feel for the year of birth for Joseph Clarke, son of Matthew Clarke and Lydia Hazel. The records don't given us any indication of the ages of their children--whether they were adults or under age in 1783. 8/18/1783: Admin. accts. of Matthew Clarke by Lydia Clarke, Admx. Widow, 1/3. Children, equally: Ann, Robert, John, Elijah, Zachariah, Matthew, Joseph, Lydia, and Mary. (Balances and Distributions, Chr. of SM, Spring 1993). I have that Mary Thompson, daughter of Thomas Thompson and Mary Cole married Joshua Clarke. She may have been married first to a Bowles and was therefore a widow when she married Joshua Clarke. Joshua Clarke married Mary Bowles St. Francis Xavier RCC on September 16, 1772. Jerry, I have no record of a Joseph Clarke dying in 1798 with or without a wife named Mary. Was this in KY? Although I have Enoch Abell currently married to Judith BOOTH I'm not sure it's correct, nobody seems to know her parents. I think the idea that Judith was a Booth comes from name of her son John Booth ABELL. John Booth ABELL has a son named John Booth Abell also. Their son Francis Abell marries and names his daughter Judith Booth ABELL. I found several web site that claims Judith BOOTH (ABELL) died 17 MAR 1784 in St Marys, Saint Marys, Maryland, USA Sometimes though Middle names in children are not always last name of mother, it could be last name of a Grandmother. -----Original Message----- From: mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdstmary-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Linda Reno Sent: Wednesday, April 08, 2009 7:08 AM To: mdstmary@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY] Cuthbert Abell While we're on the subject.... 3. Hi, Tom, This is not my ancestoral family, so I didn't keep notes at that time, but - - - at least 20 years ago, I was involved in a correspondence circle on this subject. Some one of us tried to find the microfilm of the land transaction and couldn't find it. Never the less, another member insisted that they had seen it and didn't think that it said "John Abell". Maybe someone else on this list was also part of that circle or has access to the microfilm and can provide more information. Do you know which John Abell was said to be married to Elizabeth Aud? The only Elizabeth Aud that I could find was one whose father was Thomas Aud who died before 10 Mar 1693/94 in St. Mary's County, and for some reason, I didn't think she fit with the John Abell said to be her husband - - the one who was born about 1721 (grin). Jerry, The only other John Abell I have in that time frame is John s/o Samuel Abell & Winifred Raley. I had him born abt 1721 but he may have been born earlier. 3. Jerry, Two different women. I still don't know who the Elizabeth Griffin was who died before November 29, 1752. 3. While we're on the subject.... Does anyone have any proof that Judith, wife of Enoch Abell was actually Judith Booth? I believe she is presumed to be because one of her sons was named John Booth Abell. I think she was actually Judith Evans, daughter of David Evans, Jr. and his wife, Eleanor (who m. second, Thomas Fish). Eleanor was somehow related to the family of John Gibbons and his wife, Martha. 1/21/1735: Admin. accts. of David Evans, SMC. Sureties: Henry Tucker, John Gibbons. Received from: Joseph Stone, James Watts, John Patchall. Payments to: Capt. John Hicks, Philip Clarke, John Thompson, George Plater, Esq. Distribution to: widow, 1/3. Residue to (5 children): Hugh, John, Susanna, Judith, and Grace Evans. Admx: Eleanor Fish, wife of Thomas Fish. Admin. accts. of Thomas Fish, 5/31/1753 by Eleanor Fish, Admx.; sureties were Cuthbert Abell and Nathaniel Hickman; 1/3 to widow; Children: Thomas Fish, of full age; Robert Fish, about 15; William, 15; James, about 12; and Joseph, age 9 (Moxey). David Evans, Jr. was the son of David Evans, Sr. who outlived his son. Will of David Evans, SMC, 7/16/1734-3/31/1735. Grandchildren: Isabella Hebb, David Hebb, and Joseph Hebb, personalty. Daughter: Susanna, wife of Henry Tucker, water mill; dwelling plantation to Susanna and the heirs of her body and of her husband, Henry Tucker, her eldest son Benjamin Tucker excepted. Residue of estate to be divided between grandchildren, the children of Henry and Susanna Tucker and of David Evans and his wife, Eleanor. Exec: Henry Tucker, carpenter. Wit: John Heages, John Rigby, John Patshall. Last year, when I first started thinking about this, I wrote to Pete Himmelheber and asked him if these families lived anywhere near each other. I asked him if Enoch Abell, David Evans, Jr. and Thomas Fish lived in the same area in the 1720's through the 1760's. 1. Re: [MDSTMARY] Judith BOOTH
    2. Jerry L. Clark
    3. Linda, I personally have no proof she was a Judith BOOTH, I'm not even sure how others have come to that conclusion, but Likely it came from Mary Donnelley. Out of 27 web sites on Rootsweb world Family tree not one web site knew parents of Judith BOOTH or had any documentation to support her name being Judith BOOTH. Just down the 3NR (Three Notch Road) from Abells Content and Slipe of Enoch Abell and Abells Chance of Cuthbert Abell. See Chronology and Map. There were many references to the new house of Booth Abell which was in Abells Chance between the 3NR and cutoff. Pete & Lillie Himmelheber Thoughts? Linda Reno
