After you subscribe, post a message. Someone will answer you. As to the waterman thing - he would have worked his own boat or that of a friend or neighbor, as we still do today. Watermen are self-employed, and it is not an easy job. They generally leave at about 3:30 - 4:00 a.m. for work. Some farm also, but that is also a time consuming and difficult way to make a living.
