In the case of Charles Hamersly, he was in Somerset County, MD. From what I have read, these 1778 Oaths had to be sworn before a certain date in 1778. Ancestry has the record listed but no visual of the record. Therefore, no other information appears such as where he was from, etc. I am trying to find out where I can go to get a photocopy of the actual record. Patriots during the Revolution were required to swear an Oath. But, also the British were also requiring Oaths. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
