Your item found in the listing compiled by Accelerated Indexing Systems was ~not~ from what I proposed above (Bettie Carothers, comp., /Maryland Oaths of Fidelity/. I located my copy of this book, and there is no Hamersly-type name in the Somerset Co. listing (nor in the Frederick Co., MD listing). I should have looked before proposing this book as source. I reviewed the introduction to it, and it says it is the list of names from a card file in the MD State Archives. It does not even give the title of the card file, grrrrrr. It is possible that the original card file gave sources for each item (whereas the book gives no specific source at all other than the "card file"). So if you go to the MD Archives, you don't have to be bothered to try to hunt up Ms. Carothers' source. I do wish you good hunting.
