Looking at my ADC (detailed) map of Cecil County there is a Georgetown spot with a post office on the north side of the Sassafras River just east of Fredericktown and there is also a Georgetown across the river in Kent Co. Big town (not)---straddles the river. As I mentioned, in the early days of the county the Cecil line extended well down into what is now Kent Co. but the line was moved up to the river in the early 1700's for the convenience of residents. In some records you will find lists of unclaimed mail in the early 1800's at the Georgetown Crossroads post office---this was the Georgetown near the Sassafras.
