Kenn.... Can't definitely link John Tolson Lowe to your Allen or John Wesley Lowe.... However know that John Tolson Lowe owned 16,000 acres in Florida (100 square miles) and it might have been in Nassua County, Fla... Don't have John Tolsons will but something maybe better.... I have the FTM CD#208 with the MD. Genealogical Soc. Bulletins 1-38. Suggest you all buy this CD as it contain 100's of pages old MD. records.. In Volume 20 #2 Spring 1979 there are about 3 pages on the Tolsons, Stonestreets and Lowes which follow as in a family lineage......... (1.)Francis Tolson (of Broad Creek near Oxon Hill in PG Co., MD) +Mary Clark (1st wife daughter of Robt. Clark) (2.) Frances b. 1710 (2.) Henry b. 7/8/1708 (2.) Gilbert b. 11/4/1712 + Ann (Lowe) ???? (2nd wife of Frances may have been a Lindsey...my guess) One child a son John T. (2.) John Tolson (1715-1768) + Ann Lowe (1733-1776) Johns will mentions 5 children and Goddaughter Sarah Lindsey and Godson John Tolson Lowe...... He willed cash to Sarah Riddle daughter of Frances Riddle and her sister Susannah. Executors John Lowe, John Baynes, Nathaniel Magruder, Michael Lowe. (3.) Frances (1762-1824) m1 Ann Middleton m2 Elizabeth Semmes (3.) Henry (3.) John Jr....never married mentions Godson Samuel Lowe and give Basil Lowe clothes (3.) Ann m. ??? Stonestreet (3.) Elizabeth...never married mentions Uncle Henry Lowe and Uncle James Lowe. Also James, Henry, and Richard Stonestreet.. Mentions Aunt Amelia Fahern... Now to put this together and see what you come up with based on the Major John Lowe chart I sent the other night... Note Susannah Riddle in the 1776 will that could be John Tolson Lowe's future wife who is mentioned as a Godson...... This is like a large picture puzzle.. By the way Henry Lowe m. Ann Stonestreet was the granddaughter of Thomas Christian Stonestreet as noted in Thomas's 1771 will... Perhaps other Tolson researchers can help set us set the record straight here.. I have been looking for his father for about 25 years with little luck. I know he is somehow related to John Tolson Lowe but I have not been able to make the connection. Allen was born about 1815 in Spanish Florida. William Lowe, John Tolson's brother, was probably in Florida at that time too. The reason I am certain that Allen was related to John T. was he served about five enlistments with John Wesley Lowe, John T's son. In one they were both listed as being born in Nassau County and both had the same color hair, eyes and complexion. Both were farmers which doesn't mean much. In your msg to Bob you mentioned John Tolson's will. Do you have the complete will and where can I get a copy of it? Susannah Riddle Lowe stated in her pension app that her last child was born in Florida in 1808 so that leaves Susannah and John T. out unless Allen was illegitimate. How are you related to John Tolson?
