I connect to the Greenfield line thru Ann Greenfield, dau of Thomas Greenfield and Martha Truman, via her marriage to Jhn Wight. Their daughter, Ann Wight, married my grgrgrgrUncle, David Burnes. Ann Greenfield died in Nottingham, Prince George's Co., 1742. There seems to be very close ties between my Burnes family and the Greenfield's and Trumans as many generations of the Burnes family have named their sons Truman. Also, Burnes family legend states that when they came to the US, they used the name Greenfield--this is unproven, but several of us researchers have heard of this, I'd sure like to know more! Also, Ann Wight and her husband, David Burnes, lived on the land that encompasses the southern grounds of the White House, the Treasury, the Mall, the Jefferson Memorial, the Old Navy Shipyard and more! They lived in a house built by David's grandfather, David Burnes I, around 1748--it was located on what is now 17th St. and Constitution Ave and was standing until 1894 when it was demolished to make way for the Columbia Athletic Club, and is now occupied by the Pan American Building. I have lots of info on this and I would appreciate and info on the Greenfield/Burnes connection. Barb Price 6th Great Grandaughter of David Burnes I
