Carol and any one else who likes the search Thanks for the information about Washington Hundred. I hadn't noticed that before and made the assumption that Edward and Ann had been in DC because William, their son, lived there by the 1820 DC census and Ann had left all her processions to William in her will which was probated in DC. Perhaps she had moved in with them by 1820. I need to look for when Edward or Ann sold/transferred the property in PGC. I have never found a record for it. No there is no will, inventory or any other documentation that I can find on Edward Thursby at least in Maryland. There are no cemetery records for Edward or Ann that I can find nor for William their son who died Jan 1, 1849 in Baltimore where he had moved sometime between 1840 and 1849 with his wife and children. His death notice in Baltimore doesn't mention another location even. William married a Sarah Kirkley in 1818 in DC and her brother lived in Baltimore at that time. This is why I believe he moved the family there..being older by 10 years than Ann and probably not well. Being near her family would have been better for her. He had sold all his property in DC including his slaves. It would be interesting to know what happened to his married sister. She could have been already deceased too being older. William served in the war of 1812 having enlisted in Alexandria, Virginia and Sarah petitioned the Maryland state legislature for a pension in the 1870's and received it. I know where Sarah is buried but William is not there. As to other children...according to the census there was only one male child and two female children. I know name of only one daughter. Church records would be good but what religion or church and would it show Edward's parents names? I know where some of the Sasscer's are buried and others are on family land plots. Oddly enough some are in Croome in the old church of Rev Claggett fame. My mother's mother was born a Claggett of this family and my parents weren't to meet for another 150 years in Baltimore. I am not so much worried about Edward's descendents because I know who they all are for the most part and most importantly the male descendent, my direct ancestor. I want to know who Edward's parents are!!! searching still Jane
