    1. Familiar Names for tracts of land

    3. Folks, If you have the chance to review the names of the tracts of land surveyed or granted prior to the formation of PGC, you may come across some familiar names. I found two that jumped off the map at me. "Turkey Thickett" and "Land Over" In my youth, I played softball at a park called Turkey Thicket, so I wondered if there was a connection. The park today still carries the name bestowed upon it back in 1686 by Charles Bealle. Landover & Landover Hills of today are in the general area of the tract of land named "Land Over" by James Rumsey in 1683. Have any of you recognized any other tracts whose names have survived to today??
