I would suggest contacting St. Barnabas Episcopal Church since it's still a very viable institution. Maybe someone here can supply the address. It's near Upper Marlboro and the school is Queen Anne's in the church yard. I am trying to trace the life history of my grandmother's uncle the Rev. William John Williams, his wife Katherine and his three children George, Gwilym and Blodwin. He was active in the Diocese of Washington in the early 1900's but to date I have been unable to ascertain exact dates and information. Information received from Maragaret D. Lewis, archivist at the Diocese of Washington reads as follows :- "The Reverend William John Williams was active in the Diocese of Washington and was Rector at St. Barnabas' Church. Queen Anne Parish, Prince George's County, MD beginning in 1907 until 1911 as listed in the Journals of the Diocese for that time period. However, things become a little confused because he is also listed at Christ Church, Chaptico, King and Queen Parish, St. Mary's County, MD beginning in 1905 and was still listed there in 1914. After that there is no listing for him later in this Diocese. Not verified is the date that he left this Diocese to go to Our Father in Foxburg, PA. " Can anyone suggest any other sources of information to verify the dates and clear up the confusion over which church he was actually serving at. Any help is sincerely appreciated. Could anyone give me info on the Riley family from Prince George's County in the early 1800's who were the parents of Spencer Riley. Spencer was born 1810 in Virginia. I think his parents (who I do not know) must have come from PG County as all efforts to locate them in Frederick or Rappahannock Va have been unsuccessful. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Robert Johnson owned land in 1698 in MD called Poor Man's Industry - Piscatawney and Hynson Hundreds. Thomas Hide left to Elizabeth, wife of Robert Johnson, on property called Cuckold's Rest. His will was probated March 119, 1697. Trying to use these properties to connect these two families together. Other connection may be Ann Johnson, daughter of Robert Johnson, married at St. Johns Parish, 20 March 1719 to Paul Talbo, son of John Talbut. Any help would be appreciated. My connection is through Robert and Elizabeth Johnson's son, Benjamin Johnson. I have information on him and his family which I would be willing to share. Mary Davis
Hello Lists, Would anyone on this list have info on JOHN HEPBURN, SAMUEL CHEW HEPBURN both of Prince George's Co., Maryland. I'm sorry I have no birth dates only the death date of JOHN HEPBURN. I am sure that JOHN HEPBURN that died in 1775 is the father of SAMUEL CHEW HEPBURN. But other than that I can find nothing. I'd like birthdates, also who is the wife of JOHN HEPBURN, SAMUELS MOTHER? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Shirley Middleton-Moller
Does anyone know if there is an online list of assemblymen of MD beginning in about 1641 and no later than 1800? I confess to looking for a simpler way of discovering them other than sifting through the archives one year at a time. Thanks. Ann

His grandson Basil moved on to Prince William County, VA and Fairfax County, VA around the late 1760's, and then in 1777 to Washington Co., VA. I am trying to ascertain when and where his son Nicholas was born. The Cumberland Co., KY 1810 Census shows Nicholas 45+ in age, so he would have been born in 1765 or earlier. I have been contacted by a teacher at Charles Flowers H.S. near Glenarden about cleaning up/transcribing and photographing an abandoned or neglected African-American cemetery near the school for her 10th grade government class community service project. Does anyone on the list have a suggestion for such a cemetery? I'm not all that familiar with PG Co. and don't have a clue what cemetery(ies) might be good candidates. Any suggestions welcomed! If you haven't been by the Tombstone Project page lately, please drop in again. We've added many new cemeteries and now have a photo project page. My niece has an excerpt from 1914 PG County court records concerning the marriage of her great grandparents. She is interested in obtaining the actual marriage record (not just an excerpt) if possible. Could someone tell me how marriages were recorded in PG Co in 1914 - were marriage licenses issued or were marriages justed listed as a line in court records. Also, would the original records still be in the county or would they be available at the Maryland Archives? Barbara
I have a CASTEEL family who lived in Prince Georges Co. Md 1700's but don't seem to find their marriage records in any of the published church records...any suggestions? Carol
QUERY ABOUT "SUIT/SUITE" AND "JONES" in PRINCE GEORGE'S & ST.MARY'S MD: I've been digging through some of my family stuff. Does anyone know for sure "IF" JANE SUIT and her husband JOHN JONES of Prince George's Co MD in the later 1700's were the parents of ELSIE/ELSPIT JONES (born ca 1799) who later married SAMUEL SUIT in the 1820's?? Elspit and Samuel SUIT were the parents of my great grandpa NORRIS MARSHALL J. SUIT(E) (spelled both ways in records!) of St.Mary's Co MD who was born in the 1830's. That would make ELSIE and SAMUEL cousins if Jane was a sibling to Samuel's dad. Who were SAMUEL SUIT(E)'s parents? Also, was NORRIS SUIT(E),Sr. married before he married ROSEANNE WILLIAMS? It appears to me that the date of birth of his eldest child was before their marriage date. Does anyone know this for sure?? Thanks for any help in this matter.
