Just signed up and will try not to blow the protocol too bad on my first try. Looking for any information on Henry Carter, Eldersburg innkeeper, born about 1754, died in 1829. Bought Eldersburg tavern from widow of Richard Choate 1n 1814. Bought Virginia land on Ohio River from Benjamin Lawrence of AA county in 1803. No proof he ever lived there, but his son William bought the land from him about 1817. Henry and wife Mary buried at Wesley Chapel, Eldersburg. His son Henry and wife Charity buried at Linganore Church in Libertytown. Have administrative accounts and names of his children and their spouses. Need parents names, maiden name of wife Mary and any other info help figure out where he came from. Also how do I get to the archives. Found them once before I signed up, but can't figure out how to get back there.
