Have you found Thomas Royston, son of Thomas and Margaret going by the name Royston or Riston, or sometimes both like his father? Could he be the Thomas Riston who was enumerated in the Alexandria, DC 1820 Census? The oldest male is shown to be 45 and upwards, making him born 1775 or before.
