My line comes from David b1759 son of David (also known as Deter or Teter died in 1768. He was part of toms creek one hundred.) he was part of the first settlers of Emmitsburg in 1786. Wife's name Anna Catherine would like marriage record. I was there last year but had little time to find the marriage record as well I was not fully aware of the D/T problem of the early German records. 3. I was given the information (from another mailing list) that there never was a Mary Elkton - not one who married Abraham Pennington or otherwise. I have never researched this marriage but the other people on the mailing list are Pennington researchers and are more knowledgeable than I am. From the records I've seen, he may have been married to a "Mary" but I don't think there is any proof that her surname was "Elkton". One source for Pennington info (my apologies if I'm telling you things you already know): http://members.iquest.net/~rodpenn/abe1.htm I personally don't know what is accurate and what is not in this case. 3. Researching these surnames: Baltimore city-1870-1900- Bateman, Jas. J., and Mary Ann Ward Davis (Jas' grandmother who died in 1872 in Baltimore). We've been trying to find out where she is buried. Frederick Co.-1790-1820-Mary Ann Ward and Joseph Davis Washington Co.-1820-1830- William Bateman and Sarah Ann Davis. Thank you all for checking. Joyce

    1. [MDGEN] ROLLCALL-FLORA, LEFLEUR
    2. Mary
    3. My brick wall: Family of CHARLES E. FLORA b. 1861,or 1866 or 1870. I have seen it all three ways. Death certificate says 1870, census shows the ohter two. Day and month are December 6th in BALTIMORE, MD. Possible parents may be COLUMBUS FLORA and EMMA TRACY or it lists his father as EDWARD on the death certificate for Charles. His mother's surname was TRACY and both parents were born in MD. Hope to find an answer to this puzzle. Thank you, Mary Cox nee FLORA
