Is there any other way to find birth death records in Maryland besides Obituaries or Newspapers? (Since I hear the State Dept isn't fulfilling requests anymore?)
Sharon, I do not know where the cemetery is, but believe me, you can't miss it unless Cayotts Corner has had a huge influx of folks. It use to be just pretty much a crossroads. The easiest way to find it exactly, is to stop in the Historical Society in Elkton. In fact, they are such wonderful people, they might even e-mail you the information. However, it is a tiny place and you should have no problem. Interesting that you are looking for a Price. I had a Hannah A. Price (b.15 Jan 1837, d. 20 Feb. 1929) who married Lambert D. Boulden. Hannah's parents were Marcellus Price, born about 1813 and Mary Ann Richardson, born about 1815. That is pretty much the extent of my knowledge on them. Have not started researching that line as yet. We are possibly kin. Meg Swi777@aol.com wrote: >Meg, >Thankyou very much for your reply, Do you happen to know where the cemetery >might be there??? I have information that David K. I think I found a relative from 1930 who was an "inmate" at Bayview Asylum, part of City Hospital. I would like to know if he died there. Does anyone know how I can find that out? Thanks.
Meg, Thankyou very much for your reply, Do you happen to know where the cemetery might be there??? I have information that David K. Price is buried there and want to go check it out. Will I turn right or left to get there Sharon
It is in Cecil County - if you are coming from Elkton, you turn south onto Route 213. Go past Chesapeake City keep going south. There should be a sign for Cayots (it is the intersection) it is the correct intersection, if you turn right you will go to Port Herman and if you turn left, you go to St. Augustine, Mt. Pleasant, Boyds Corner, etc. My great-grandmother lived there when she was young. Sorry, my directions are awful. Meg Garner Swi777@aol.com wrote: >Can anyone tell me where this is? Can anyone tell me where this is? There is a cemetery there I need to go to. Thankyou Sharon
Thanks - I've received several pieces of info on this, and it is interesting. I guess I just worried about HOW they got my address. I see now Thanks! -------Original Message------- From: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 12:53:13 To: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MDGEN] Postings to Lists, etc. > You mention about posting things off the list. Some lists (like this one) are set up to Reply to List and others are set up to Reply to Sender. There's always been lots of debate amongst Listowners as to which way is best and each Listowner has the option of deciding how to have their List work. Personally I think Reply to List is best because it helps to keep a List active. To send a message to someone privately, off-List, just copy the email address from the posting to the List and paste it into your email "To" area. ===== Kathi Jones-Hudson MD Tombstone Transcription Project Manager http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland.html __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Thankyou all so much for you help with my census dilemma. Sharon
Jan, this brings up an interesting question, I hope you don't mind if I post it here - there are probably others who also would like to know. You mention about posting things off the list. How is it that sometimes, a message does go to the list, and sometimes to the person I am replying to? This one, as I type it, for instance shows it will be To: MDGEN-L - but other times, it shows a member's name. One county list I am on is scary to me because I get so many of these off-list messages. Especially about off-topic things like Viet Nam Disabled Veterans and marches, rights, etc. I finally had to block that person's address from my email program. For this post you just sent, only your name appears in the message, and I could see it in the From: column in my program, but other times a whole address shows. How do people get my address when I have it set to show my name, not my address? Which takes me back to the original question - how can it be posted off list when it doesn't show on the message? Like how would I address this to you, if I only wanted you to see it - or chat with another member about family news, recipes and the like which I have seen on lists - and like you say - get out of control? And tell me please, where does it give your standards for the list, so that we may review them? Thanks! - and "listers" - please lets just get Jan's response and not chatter on the list about this. OK? -------Original Message------- From: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, March 04, 2003 07:53:19 To: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MDGEN] From Administrator please read hello all , When the list was step- up by me and previous administrators we asked that you would not post virus messages on the list , i have seen several of these posted to the list . Before you click to go to the record write down the township - ED # and page # that appears in the index and then check when you get to the record itself. My guess is that the link is wrong and you are being sent to the wrong page. This has happened soooo much to me. Sometimes the link is just a page or so off - sometimes you are sent to the wrong township or wrong ED #. Hope this helps a bit. Take care - Emma
