    2. Jan
    3. Hi everyone , Sorry for the late response , i had to go away . Okay to answer the question that was brought forth to me When you want to respond to a post when you hit he reply the post defaults back to the list in the To field it should read MDGEN-L@rootseb.com . So when you want to reply to the post make sure in the field it says the list name , If it has the person email address or name and you don't want it to go that person change the To field to whom you want to send a reply to . i hope i cleared that question up . if not please let me know . When posting to the list , you cant post subjects like virus , joke , poems , nor can you spam the list . When you post and you don't want to be emailed off the list . you can say please reply through the list or something to that nature . To contact me personally you can eamil me at jcart54@earthlink.net please in the subject line put MDGEN list . i hope i explained everything and i answered your questions . if you this didn't explain please let me know and i will be glad to try and explain this question again . One last note , if you any suggestions or comments i would like your opinion , And if you have a suggestion on what we can do to improve the list please let me know . Thank you Jan Carter - list Administrator MDGEN -----Original Message----- From: Bonnie McCroby Wuensche [mailto:mccroby@hotmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2003 1:45 PM To: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDGEN] From Administrator please read Jan, this brings up an interesting question, I hope you don't mind if I post it here - there are probably others who also would like to know. You mention about posting things off the list. How is it that sometimes, a message does go to the list, and sometimes to the person I am replying to? This one, as I type it, for instance shows it will be To: MDGEN-L - but other times, it shows a member's name. One county list I am on is scary to me because I get so many of these off-list messages. Especially about off-topic things like Viet Nam Disabled Veterans and marches, rights, etc. I finally had to block that person's address from my email program. For this post you just sent, only your name appears in the message, and I could see it in the From: column in my program, but other times a whole address shows. How do people get my address when I have it set to show my name, not my address? Which takes me back to the original question - how can it be posted off list when it doesn't show on the message? Like how would I address this to you, if I only wanted you to see it - or chat with another member about family news, recipes and the like which I have seen on lists - and like you say - get out of control? And tell me please, where does it give your standards for the list, so that we may review them? Thanks! - and "listers" - please lets just get Jan's response and not chatter on the list about this. OK? -------Original Message------- From: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, March 04, 2003 07:53:19 To: MDGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MDGEN] From Administrator please read hello all , When the list was step- up by me and previous administrators we asked that you would not post virus messages on the list , i have seen several of these posted to the list . And i would appreciate it you would please stop sending them to the list . if you want to respond to a virus warning please do it off the list . the list is for researching not for virus and other topics . 3. Hi Fran, I checked my "Moravian Families of Graceham, MD" by Henry James Young, and found some info on your family. On page 66 it says "MILLER, Elizabeth married William Ward". No date is given. On page 97, I found "Ward, William, foreman on Mr. Bruce's plantation, married Elizabeth Miller. Issue: Sally (1:194), born Jl 26, [1799?]: baptized Je 19 1802. Mary (1:194) born Je 5, 1801; baptized Je 19, 1802." The numbers in ( ) refer to the original German records which are now in the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem, PA. Since you obviously have more info than what I found in my book, I would suggest you follow up the the Moravian Church. They do keep wonderful records. Good luck with your search.
