Well there is a long list of things NOT to use.. Only thing I can think of would be chalk dust. you can buy a can at the Hardware store, Chemically it should be compatible, but of course there will always be abrasion for anything you use.. most people recommend using a mirror and try to cast light at the right angle to bring out the writing. The National Archives in Washington has Indexes for Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Application Files on microfilm. The sites below list contents of several their microfilms, each containing many rolls. If you can not go there, you can probably write or email them and have them do as search for you. If they find them listed, you may be able to get copies of the actual documents. http://www.nara.gov/publications/microfilm/military/mil02.txt http://www.nara.gov/publications/microfilm/military/mil03.txt John Siemon ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2001 7:05 AM Subject: [MDGEN] Revolutionary War Info > The book "Maryland Revolutionary Records" by H. Harry is often found as "Harris" but the Harry brothers who came to Philadelphia in the early 1700s were "Harry" from Wales. Hi, While I do not have one I am glad to know there is a Harry family. I took it forgranted it was Harris with y used instead of i. My Merryman name is frequently spelled with i which is usually a pretty much different line. I have seen many spelling errors. I don't remember if I answered your query before my long query, but the Harry family is Welsh from Montgomeryshire. I have just written my ninth and LAST book in which I included the Harry family and their relatives. If I can help you any just let me know. I'm sorry for being so long in responding but I have had lightening trouble contacting the computer. Karen, I will ask if you have traced your Miller family lines back at all. My grandfather (Charles Robert Miller, born in Phila in 1875) came from the Sudlersville, MD area where his father, Robert Walter Cookson Miller was born in 1841 in Sudlersville or Millington, MD. I can't find anything on him. Chuck [email protected] wrote: > > Hello, > I am new to this web site.
