    1. [MDGEN] Roll Call - PROUT, all counties especially Calvert
    2. John PROUT, 1670-1700, Dorchester County Richard PROUT, 1770-2000, Anne Arundel, Calvert Counties PROUT is my biggest brick wall. I'm pretty sure I've got everything from all published records, but If anyone has suggestions on specific source records for Calvert County before 1800, please let me know. All land records were destroyed in a fire, and the PROUTs appear not to have attended any church for which records remain. They appear intermittently through colonial period in a will here, a marriage there, so I don't know if they just sat quietly on a farm in Calvert County or if they were coming and going back to England or even Barbados. I only have a fairly solid line after they spread over the border into Anne Arundel, maybe around 1820-1830.

    2. Carolyn Adams
    3. I am a docent at Md Historical Society and in preparing to give tours of the Baltimore Album Quilt exhibit that is there this summer, I found a square in one of the quilts signed by E. Greenfield. I am a Greenfield and know there were several Elizabeths that were relatives in Baltimore at that time- about 1845. Other blocks in the quits were signed by or were for Sarah and William Young, Harah Firoved , M. McNelley, M.E. Waters, I am searching for a "nexus" between any of the other quilters and E. Greenfield. I am assuming it was Methodism as all the Greenfields were Methodists at that time and over half of the quilts in the exhibit were done for or by Methodists. If anyone knows anything about these other folks - would appreciate your letting me know. For your information the website on the exhibit is http://www.mdhs.org/quiltprj/quilthom.html And it is something that should not be missed as you maybe able to find some of your relatives there also! And it is fascinating and well shown. Carolyn Adams
