Does anyone know if there was a newspaper called the "Baltimore American" in 1829 in Baltimore? I've searched the Maryland archives and have had no luck finding such a newspaper. Thanks for your help. Peggy

To Harold Muma, our family is of mixed heritage and we have had a lot of difficulty establishing communications with others. We are open to all. At the present time we are getting names and running them through to see where they lead us. I thank you for the information because we do seem to run into the Irish and German also. All of the people that we have met have had the same experiences that we are having. We have just had the fun of establishing great comradieship with everyone interested. We have been doing our Family Day since 1989 and have missed two years (weddings). We are open like I said to all that are interested in finding out more info on the Hoxter's, (other spellings included). Thanks for the info. My name is Frances

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the records for the First German Baptist (on the corner of Hampstead [now Fairmont) and Caroline St. in Fells Point). It was disbanded around 1932. In my gggrandmothers (Mary Steier Rappold) obituary it lists her as being a member of this church. She died in 1878.I have also come across reference in the Scharff book (History of Baltimore Co. and city) that her husband John L. Rappold was the one that got the church going in Baltimore about 1855 and also helped with the 7th German Baptist. So far I have been unable to find who has the records Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Lynn Smith

Hi Hoxter descendant. Looks like you guys had a good time. My daughter-in-law is descended fro Tomas Hoctor and Elizabeth (Kinsella) Hoctor. Both of them born in Ireland. In fact, all of her ancestors were Irish. Could these Hoctors be related to your Hoxter? Well, some of the Hoxter's that are from Philadelphia PA, Wilmington and Bear Delaware have had another successful FAMILY DAY, again this year at the Brandywine Family Picnic Park, in Pocopson, PA. We enjoyed fine conversation and good food, games, and each other. Each year we seem to be drawing a new family member. Welcome Ahdahmeeah and Family. There will be further postings during the coming year as to what the Hoxter Family is doing to get closer and find out more about our history. We are still actively looking for information concerning our past, present, and future. Hi: If there is anyone on this list working on an Sullivan family in Baltimore County, MD prior to 1850 I would like to here from you. Hello All, I have been working on my genealogy since 1984 but have only had a PC for one year. Working to make up for lost time. I have hit a brick wall with the CORREA family. Any responses I receive are of Spanish origin. However my CORREAS are of French origin. As far as I can determine the name was originally CORREAR and in the mid 1800's the R was dropped. I am related to Mathew Oscar CORREA who had a brother named William J. There are no surviving sons of Mathew past 1909. However, William had John. H., William G. who lived beyond that. Does anyone have any info on this family? I have more info that I would love to share. Betty

The DAR provides information on its Patriots for a minimal charge. I believe that information on how to obtain the records is on the National DAR website--www.dar.org > From: "Rodney Hall" <[email protected]> > Reply-To: [email protected] > Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2001 11:11:35 -0400 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [MDGEN] SAR & DAR searches for ancestors? > Resent-From: [email protected] > Resent-Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2001 09:15:39 -0600 > > Is there a way to search SAR and DAR for records of someones ancestors?
