Kenneth, I suggest you check for a church connection. For instance, the Church of the Brethren still functions with annual meetings. And please consider donating the postcards to the Garrett County Histoical Society. It's a great way to protect and share them. My wife has a vast collection of correspondence mostly in the form of "one cent" post cards that were mailed to her grandmother from Garrett Co. These are dated through the early 1900's, they are from various relatives. Most of the relatives were living in and around Accident, Bittinger, Grantsville, and Friendsville, Garrett Co, MD at the time. My wife's grandmother was in Somerset Co, PA at the time. > > My question and what I would really appreciate, and be grateful for any assistance, or suggestions as to where information possibly can be found... > > there is reference to going to an annual meeting in York, PA. This notation is referred to generally each year around the beginning of June and early July. A couple of times it was mentioned they stayed 10 days. > > This "annual" meeting referred to...does anyone know what this meeting was about, what the yearly purpose was, where in York, PA it was held, and why would family members from Garrett Co. go to it every year??? > > Anyone, any thoughts??? > > Thank you, Kenneth >
