Pat I remember reading in one of your books a story about the settlement of Friendsville and it mentioned John Brobst as running a Furnace. He later moved to Oakland. I think his wife was Mary Friend. The Elizabeth Friend living in her household in 1850 might be a relative of hers. Joseph and Elizabeth's daughter Lavina married William Frank Brobst and had 14 children. They are buried in the cemetery at the corner of Toothpick Road and Glen Dale Road. Lavina's brother John Jeremiah Lish married Mary E. Friend and had three children. Do you have anything on the Mary Friend that married John Brobst. I'll have to start digging into the Brobst, Friend connection to see what I can find. Mary
