Hello Carolyn: Yes, that is from the book written in 1976. "Poorbaugh" page 80 tells of those who contributed information as to BURBACH, SWEITZER, and BOWSER descendants. On the BURBACH side; Jacob C. POOR- BAUGH 5.507 and Charles PURBAUGH 4.162; the compiler, Treva CALDER; Mary (BOWSER) THORNBURG; and Bernadine (DEVINE) FRIEND. Not sure what you mean regarding a "source" for the book. It was published by the Poorbaugh-Purbaugh Association of Somerset County in 1976; with the annotation: "Any part of this book may be copied by family researchers and genealogists if the source is given due recognition." I don't know if the book is available through inter library loan; I don't see any ISBN # in the original; the supplement has ISBN: 0-9621708-0-1; Library of Congress Card # 88-83499. If by "source" you mean sources referring to in- dividuals, the bottom of each page contains footnotes (which I _hate) referencing sources for data on that page. What makes it particularly nasty, is that the footnotes reference a source page in the back of the book, i.e. the foot note may reference "129" in the back of the book; so you have to go to the back of the book to see what "129" refers to (cemetery, census, contributor, etc.) which makes it a real pain. If you want what the book has regarding the Sweitzers, the easiest way would be for me to photocopy and send it to you snail mail. I can understand your frustration with trying to get them to notice that you wished to contribute your material. I volunteered to donate what I had on the Bowsers about three years ago and didn't get any kind of a satisfactory reply either. One thing's for sure; it's a mighty big job they're working on. http://www.poorbaughfamily.org/default.htm Check out the website. The original book (1976) is 539 pages, the 1988 supplement is 114 pages. They are trying to put an update on cd rom. This has been a work in progress for about 3 years now, I think. If George Sweitzer is an ancestor of yours, then we are cousins, of some description. I descend from his sister Elizabeth, b. 1809 who married Jacob Bowser, b. 1802. They are buried at the German Lutheran cemetery at Cove.
