    3. I finally found the William/Henry Warnick family in the 1910 Census! William Warnick is listed as "Henry" Warnick in 1910 Census whereas he is listed as "William" in 1920. Could his name have been William Henry Clay Warnick ??? Mary J. is listed in 1910 as wife age 61, m; 39 years, with 6 children, and 6 children living. Only 3 children are listed in household in 1910.. Listed are; William T. age 39 single , John H. age 37 single, & Charles age 31, single. So I am assuming that her name is Mary Jane Paugh Warnick, b. abt. 1849. It looks as in 1910, just next door is John A. Hook age 26 (b. 1884) Head of Household, Rebecca , wife, age 32, However, it lists that there was 1 child but 0 living. This creates another problem. Where were the children that should have been born prior to 1910 to John Hook & Rebecca F. Warnick Hook??? Harry W. b. abt. 1898, Earl Clarence b. abt 1902, Jennet b. 1905, Sadie b. abt. 1910. I think all the children, with exception to Flossie B., & possibly Sadie, should have been there in 1910. Could the children been staying with Paugh grandparents or other relatives at census time??? Another puzzle!!! Perhaps this 1910 Census will add some clues to which Warnick and Paugh family included William/Henry (Clay) Warnick b. ca 1847 and Mary Jane Paugh b. ca 1849. Thanks for any thoughts or information..... Take Care Pat Hook ~~~

    3. Hi Pat: I have two census records which might refer to your Mary Jane Paugh- I have this one born 1846-1848, daughter of Joseph H. and Malinda (unknown) Paugh. I mention the list of neighbors not being the same in 1850 & 1860. I think the families recorded in Jan., 1861 were not necessarily enumerated in any order from which one can conclude they were neighbors. There appears to have been a recount. -Sam 1850 Allegany County census, Glades District, page 66b , Sk Image 66b, taken August 29- 861/866 - All born in MD. Near the Bray settlement northwest of Kitzmiller. "Joseph H. Paugh", WM age 36 (1814), Farmer, no Real Estate. "Malinda", WF age 27 (1823). "Sarah", WF age 11 (1839). "Wm.", WM age 10 (1840). "Michl.", WM age 6 (1844). "Delia", WF age 5 (1845). "Mary J.", WF age 2 (1848). *According to "Hoye", page 434, Joseph H. Paugh was a son of Michael. On page 435, regarding the will of Michael Paugh probated in Cumberland, MD in 1864, (1) "to Joseph H. Paugh, eldest son, 100 acres of land." Neighbors- Benjamin Davis, Jane Galloway (black, former Bray slave according to Hoye), Lewis Paugh (son of Michael?), Phillip Davis, JOSEPH H. PAUGH, L. F. Klipstine, David Wonderly and Jacob Paugh, William Sharp, Samuel Harvey, Rezin Turner. .................... 1860 census Allegany County, Dist. 1, Oakland Post Office, page 217 or 673, SK Image 673, taken Jan. 7, 1861. Living four doors away from Michael Paugh. Other neighbors- Jesse & Thomas Ashby, Francis Martin, Catharine Nethkin, Christian Houser, Hannah Thayer, -JOSEPH H. PAUGH- John Beckman, age 59; M. G. Harvey, age 45; John G. Bernard, age 40; Abraham Harsbarger, 59. All but Malinda born in MD. 2305/ 2231 "Joseph H. Paugh", WM age 49 (1811), Farmer, $400 RE, $50 PP, born in MD. "Malinda", WF age 41 or 43 (1819 or 1817), born in Virginia. "William H.", WM age 20 (1840), Laborer, attended school. "Michael T.", WM age 18 (1842), Laborer, attended school. "Dilanna", WF age 16 (1844), attended school. "Mary Jane", WF age 14 (1846), attended school. "Philip Cass", WM age 12 (1848), attended school. "Samuel", WM age 10 (1850). "Malinda", WF age 6 (1854). "John Henan", 5/12 (born Aug. 1870). * Note- Philip Cass & Samuel should have both appeared in the 1850 census. Also note the difference in the list of neighbors from 1850 t0 1860. -SJB April 5, 2002 .....................
