The Garrett County Historical Society is in downtown Oakland. If you go the Town Restaurant for breakfast (on Route 219 and Alder Street) walk down the hill on Alder Street, make a right and the Historical Society is about a half block down on your left. It has a huge flower pot in front of it. Do go to the Town Restaurant and get the gravy and biscuits or an omelet.
