Pat, Can you give me any information on W. Scott Garner, who wrote the book? I thik he is descended from William Garner, and possibly Samuel Garner, my gggrandfather. Did I ever tell you that there used to be a tunnel for the railroad at Rodamer, near Terra Alta, for which my grandfather, Simon P.Wright was supervisor? The tunnel no longer exists, but the man who has my grandfather's house there will show the place to me if I can get back up there in nice weather. A lot of railroad workers (many Irish) lived nearby at that time, and my grandfather also kept a store, had the postal franchise and farmed. His first wife died in childbirth in 1905, leaving him with 5 children under the age of 10. 15 months later he married my grandmother, who gave him 6 more children.
