YOU: Did I have a typo in the info I sent for Meleta? Dates are 1924-1929, (age 5 yrs.) obviously a child, not someone's wife. ME: No, Pat - I just read it wrong. I do have Meleta in my files. She is the daughter of Samuel Riley McCrobie and Rosa May Fortney DeWitt. William Andrew, who she is buried next to, would be her grandfather. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ YOU: McCROBIE, Theodora, 1869-1911; (Father) N.N., N.d.; Charles T. 1891-1911; Rebecca, 1871-1949; also c/o Theo & R.S., inf, b/d Sept 9 1904 (illegible) and Elsie V. June 1893?-Aug 31, 1904. Buried Oakland Cem ME: Although this name looks like a female, I have it as Theodore, married to Rebecca Steven McRobie. It is apparent in the second line when it mentions the "c/o Theo and R.S.". Theo is the son of Wm P McCrobie and Sarah Manley. He and Rebecca were maried 30 oct 1890, and the parents of 7 known children. Rebeccas is the daughter of William Hampton McRobie and Margaret Ellen Miller. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ YOU: MCROBIE, Wm. C., Mar 11 1907- July 27 1974, S.Sgt US Army WWII, buried Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, MD ME: Yes, thanks. This is the one married to Esperance Ashby, son of Joseph Henry McRobie and Clara N Freeland. I have nothing on Esperance except her name. Is she buried there, too? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ YOU: MCROBIE, Wm. H. Jr., 1899-1962. Buried Oakland Cem. ME: That would have to be the son of William H Sr and Allie Nair. I have his birthday as 3 Jul1898, d 1962. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ YOU: McROBIE, Ronald Lee, Mar 1-May 2 1955 buried beside Ethel, 1900-1960; and Wm. T. 1892-1966; James W. July 30, 1918-Mar 5 1935. Buried Tasker Cem., Vindex, MD. ME: Ronald is the only child I show for Clarence Edward McRobie and Edna Irene Sharpless. Ethel M or Winnie True is Ronald's grandmother. Wm T would be William Taylor, her husband, and father of Clarence. Wm is the son of Joseph F McRobie and Stella Frances McRobie. James W is another of their sons. I don't show any spouse, but then, he was just 17 years old. Good work. Thank you!
McCROBIE, Theodora, 1869-1911; (Father) N.N., Although this name looks like a female, I have it as Theodore, ----------- Bonnie, I also thought this may have been a typo, but that is how it is listed in the burial record and also in the index. Most likely the stone was difficult to read. Pat
