Piedmont Herald, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1969 Services for Arthur Melvin Pritts, 90, formerly of Swanton, who died Thursday at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland, following a long illness, were held Sunday at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, LaVale. Rev. Allen J. Beck officiated. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Charles Schelble, William Lee, William Carder, Charles Hinze, Reginald Likens and Robert Pritts. Born in Swanton, Mr. Pritts was a son of the late Aaron and Jennie (Pyles) Pritts. He was a retired carpenter at the Luke mill of Wesvaco and was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oakland. Preceded in death by his wife, Katie (Gentry) Pritts, in 1952, Mr. Pritts is survived by one son, William A. Pritts, LaVale; one step-daughter, Mrs. Marie Myers, Luke; one brother, William Pritts, Brownsville, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bickford, Swanton, and Mrs. Susan Yommer, Jennings, and two grandchildren.
