    3. I just found an email from August 1998 received from Tim Ruckle truckle@erols.com >From the IGI (International Genealogical Index - LDS FHC files George RUCKLE m Elizabeth Stark in Allegany County 1857. They were living in that part of the county which is now Garrett County. George Ruckle's mother was a Catherine Stark who married Henry Ruckle, Sr. on 23 Apr 1813. Catherine was born in 1794 and died before 1856. And then there's this from Hoyes "Pioneer Families of Garrett Couinty, MD," page 354 - Henry and Catherine Ruckle deeded to Peter Lohr military lots 2409-2410-2411-2412. These were granted by the state to General Wm. Smallwood of the Maryland Line for services as a soldier during the Revolutionary War. The heirs of Gen. Smallwood..names them...all of Greenup County KY had transferred the land to John B. Armstead and in 1832 he deeded it to Henry Ruckle who may have resided there before he sold out to Peter LOHR.
