Piedmont Herald, Thursday, April 18, 1963 Alfredo Angel Diaz, 78, 409 Pratt Street, Luke, died last night in Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, shortly after being admitted. He had been in ill health for some time. Born in Asturias, Spain, Mr. Diaz was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Botamino) Diaz. He had resided in Luke 51 years and was retired as a bleach maker at the Luke Mill of West Virginia Pulp and Paper in 1949. His wife, Mrs. Josephine (Alvarez) Diaz, whom he married in Spain in 1910, died last year. Mr. Diaz was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and of Luke Local 676, UPP AFL-CIO. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Maria Elena Mazzone, of Luke, four sons, Alvelino, Louis, Joseph, and Manuel Diaz, all of Luke. Also surviving are five brothers, Anthony Diaz, somewhere in the United States; Felix Diaz, of Mexico; Benigno Diaz, of Argentina, and Avelino and Celestino Diaz, both of Spain; four sisters, Mrs. Elisa Perez, of Massachusetts; Mercedes, Pilar and Victoria Diaz all of Spain, and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where the family will receive friends tonight, Thursday, from 7 until 9 o'clock and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 7 unit 9 p.m. Arrangements for funeral services for Saturday are incomplete.
