    3. Months ago I saw in a URL in a list message that provided a translated names to American forms from whatever. Some of the "latinized" names are just foriegn names (i.e., German, Irish, Scotish, French). Can someone remember that site????? I got them from the Md. Archives microfilm this June. I would like to transcribe them and post them, but old Baptism records of Catholic churches were latinized by the priests. So the first names were morphed into a Latin name. They were also hand written. So I have 2 concerns. 1., Reading the handwriting accurately., 2., Should I try to put the first name back into english or (I think this is what I should do) just try to spell the name out as written by the priest and let you out on the list decide whether it could be a name you are interested in. On a limited basis I can probably send a scan of individual records anyone asks me about. Also the words between the names are latin and I have picked up on some of them but not all. It will take me quite a while to post them all, but this is a good message board and there is lots of good sharing! | here. | | Hey, out on the list, do you agree I should try my best to type the names just as Latinized by the priests? | | Art | | | - ------------------------------- | Do you Yahoo!? | Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now | | ______________________________
