I'm afraid I got everyone started with my "Not about Walt W message" recalling how we all wondered what happened to Jack L's 900 page civil war novel manuscript and research files, then everyone got worried about how to donate their files and how to record their videos to disk, and how to get photos from in a video to still form. Not to sound like an ad, but I had heard of a product that converts vhs tapes straight to dvd and yesterday I heard a mention in a Sears ad, then found the following which is available from more sellers: "The external HP DVD movie writer dc3000 with built-in analog video capture lets you quickly and easily transfer home video directly from tape (via camcorder or VCR) to DVD. All for a low price of $349.00." The way I read it you just plug in your video and audio wires from a vcr or camcorder and put in a blank dvd disk, start the machine, and the rest is automatic. Thought maybe some would be interested in ways of capturing their photos and resources for repairs of their equipment. Sometimes we get a little of topic. Sorry if I wasted space and anyone's time.
