Ex-Congressman Patrick HAMILL, one of the most respected and honored citizens of Garrett county, died at his residence, in Oakland, Tuesday night, from paralysis. He had been in poor health for two years. Ten days ago, while moving around in his house, he fell and badly injured himself, which finally resulted in paralysis. He had held many public offices. In 1868 he was elected to congress by the Democrats from the Sixth district of Maryland. He was also a member of the Maryland legislature and postmaster of Oakland under the first term of President Cleveland. He was a large owner of lands in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
