Just received my two Casselman Chronicles today. In Number 1 of 2 there is an article re Elias Romesburg (b. 3-20-1748; d. 1803) of Elk Lick Township. I have a Hetrick/Garlitz cousin that is married to a Romesburg. Elias m. Catherine (her maiden name is uncertain; however there is a possibility that she was a Shaffer. They had the following children: (1) Charlotte (2) Johann George (3) Johann Heinrich (known as John) (4) Stephen (b. 1782) -- Came to Somerset with his parents as a young lad. Stephen m. Maria ______? (who probably died before 1850 and might have been buried on the farm (Carl Shaffer farm, along Shafer Run, Off T 55022). Stephen and Maria had 8 children. Their first child Solomon (b. 3/17/1812) m. Polly Mary Pritts. The other 7 children: Charlotte (1813-1880) m. Samuel Schrock; Elizabeth (2/18/1814-9/6/1895) m. Solomon Wiltrout; Susanna (6/16/1815-2/12/1880) m. Daniel Yoder; Mary, (6/181/1821-12/11/1899) m. Philip Boyts; Margaret Rebecca (1822) m. Jonathan Schrock; Barbara (1823-4/3/1900) m.
