Information on JAMES J. VAN SICKLE- OBITUARY: JAMES JONES VAN SICKLE Jr., 87, of 229 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at the WMHS Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born Nov. 24, 1915, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Jones Van Sickle Sr., and Nancy Jane (Turney) Van Sickle. Mr. Van Sickle was former employee of the Old Export Brewing Company and the Queen City Brewing Company. A U.S. Army-Air Corps Veteran of World War II and a member of the Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W. Mr. Van Sickle was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Van Sickle is survived by his wife Millie I (Cross) Van Sickle, Cumberland; one son, James J. Van Sickle, III and wife Nancy, Daytona Beach, Fla., a daughter, Linda D. Foo and husband Ronald Lee Jr., Montgomery County; and three grandchildren. Tina Marie Van Sickle, Cumberland, Ronald Lee Foo, III, and Scott R. Foo, both of Montgomery County. Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A. 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday Jan 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Schuessler officiating. Interment will be at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veteran Honor Guard.
