I have not posted to this List looking for my KISER line because I thought they originated in Pennsylvania. However, I have now found a "clue" that leads me to the possibility that at one time they were in Hagerstown, Maryland. I realized Hagerstown is in Washington County, Maryland but if they migrated to Pennsylvania from Maryland there might still be descendants of this line in Maryland. I found this biography about the STOREY family. The reference to grandmother and great-grandfather refer to relationship with the Storey family but the rest of the article may be telling of my family. ---------------- "Catherine KISER (grandmother) was of German ancestry, and was born August 12, 1785, and died at New Derry, Westmoreland county, September, 1866. She came from Frederick city, Maryland. Her brothers and sisters were: Isaac Kiser, Adam, William, Jacob, Joseph, John; Sarah, intermarried with Jacob SIDLER, of Dane county, Wisconsin; Mary, intermarried with Samuel SLOAN, of near Blairsville, and Susan Kiser. John Kiser (great-grandfather) and Susan LEIS (IEIS or WEIS) (great-grandmother) originally came from Hagerstown, Maryland, and about 1793 located on a farm, now known as the Kiser farm, near Latrobe, Westmoreland county, and resided there until 1810, when they moved to a farm near Congress, Wayne Co., Ohio, and where they permanently located where they died."
