Walt, Since you are the expert on this, I wanted to ask if you could explain exactly where the military lots are that the Warnick family purchased from Nicholas Holsbury about 1807. Nicholas Holsbury is my ancestor. We made a quick trip through that area several weeks ago while returning from a business trip in North Carolina. We drove to Barton and then out toward the Garrett County Line. Were we close? That sure is beautiful country and the folks in Frostburg (where we stayed overnight) were the most friendly of any place we have been on our ancestry hunt. We ate breakfast at McDonalds in Frostburg and certainly enjoyed the "senior boys" who were having coffee there that morning. It was interesting to me to know that the locals there pronunce Creek as "Crick." My mother, a Holtsberry, always referred to the creek running through our pasture in Michigan as the "crick." I guess old customs follow us for year and years. Karen
